Letters of attorney of Richard Caldwall of London, "doctour in phisick," appointing William Hawkes of Burton (Staffs.), mercer, and William Caldwall the Younger his attorneys to receive seisin from Thomas Smyth, son and heir apparent of Christopher Smyth, of Charterhouse churchyard of London, esq., of a close and half a "langett" of meadow with their appurtenances in the town and fields of Annesley (Staffs.) ,now in the tenure of the late wife of John Bell and Richard Bell her son, which close and half "langett" the said Richrd bought and purchased for him from the said Thomas Smyth under a deed dated 22 March past.
